Leader Reflections: A cure for misguided ambition 🌱

Leader Reflections: A cure for misguided ambition. 🌱

Last week, I shared that the trajectory of my faith started with a focus on faith producing works. Which isn’t a bad thing , except I have definitely gone through seasons where the results dominated my focus.

Maybe you’ve had moments when you feel like your efforts and works are the core of your faith in Jesus.

How do we recalibrate? I’ve learned we must embrace the truth that our fruits are borne out of our connection with Jesus, not from our own striving. The teaching of Jesus in John 15 makes this very clear.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." πŸͺ΄

Would you consider joining me in memorizing John 15:5 this week?

Reflection Questions:

How does understanding yourself as a branch alter your perspective on your achievements?

In what ways might you be trying to bear fruit in your own strength?

How can you cultivate deeper dependence on Jesus, the true Vine?

How does this balance of faith (connection with the Vine) and works (bearing fruit) play out in your daily life?
